PUBLIC INFORMATION
One major duty of this office is to release all "official" information pertaining to the Office of the Governor to the general public and the news media.
The Public Information and Protocol Officer is also known as the Governor's Press Secretary. As the official spokesperson for the Office of the Governor, Mr. Demapan communicates the policies, plans, and goals of the administration.
The Public Information and Protocol Office staff provides assistance to the public in obtaining information relating to the Executive Branch of government. The office houses an archive of local newspapers, Public Laws, Governor's Directives, Executive Orders, brochures, and other governmental publications.
PROTOCOL
Another major duty of this office is to implement procedures for receiving foreign dignitaries and official business delegations in the CNMI.
Also as a matter of protocol, this office is the point of contact at the Office of the Governor for:
- Proclamations
- Governor and Lt. Governor's messages to be published in newspapers, brochures, or magazines.
The Public Information and Protocol Office helps answer questions the public may have relating to the CNMI Executive Branch. Through this office, the Office of the Governor maintains this website.
